Electrical tools and their use Part (1)

Introduction

Electrical tools are tools that are used to work on electrical systems. These can include a wide range of tools such as wire and cable cutters, wire strippers, telephone tools, wire cutters / strips, cable tie tools, accessories and much more. We all know that the right tool can make a difference when it comes to completing a task. The bottom line is that the better the instrument, the better the outcome and easier the work.

Explanation of the tools

The explanation of the tools is given below.

(1) Cable Crimper

Cable crimpers refer to the tools used to hold the terminals on the ends of the wire. This means that these tool terminals are capable of bending the metal of the barrel and pressing it on the bare strip of wire in a way that will not protrude/damage or loosen over time.

(2) Cable Cutter

Wire or cable cutters are tools designed to cut wire properly with minimal damage to insulation or internal conductors. Having a clean cut on the wire or cable can improve the quality of the electrical connection. Without proper tools, there is a risk of damage to the insulation which can damage the integrity of the wire or cable. You may damage the internal conductors which can severely affect the connection. What is the best way to avoid this? Use appropriate wire or cable cutters to make sure you get a clean cut and strong potential connection.

(3) Wire Stripper and Cutter

In simple words, wire stripper and cutter is multi-purpose tool designed to cut wire as well as peel it. In this way, it is able to perform the functions of two different tools, allowing you to fully develop a fine peeled and finished cable with just a few strokes of one tool. How do you do it in two strokes? Just slide the wire where the blades meet and close the tool. This operation leaves a clean cut ready to be peeled. Now place the wire properly on the base of the gauge. Make sure how much insulation needs to be removed, and then, close the tool. Now, with the tool closed, pull the wire and tool away from each other to remove the insulation.

                       

(4) Heat Guns

Heat guns are special tools designed to perform a variety of tasks with high heat dissipation. Available in a variety of styles, these tools are designed to put or focus heat in a specific area so that tasks can be performed, that other tools cannot easily compete with. Some heat guns are stationary; others can be kept with during work. One of the best aspects of heat guns is the amount of heat they can offer.

                                     

(5) Cable Tie Cutter

A cable tie cutter is a type of tool specifically designed to work with a variety of cable ties. This tool is always used to tighten the cable or break / cut the tail of the cable tie to the appropriate length.

               

(6) Screw Driver

A screw driver is a tool used to tight the screws. It consists of a metal rod with a flat or cross-shaped ends that fits into the top of the screw.

       

 (7) Needle or Nose Plier

The Long Nose Plier, also called the Needle Plier, is commonly used for detailed work on the cable, giving the user more control over bending, holding and cutting. The length and slender shape of the jaws give it more accuracy and also make it useful for accessing areas where a regular plier cannot reach.
