Procedure
This SOP describe the general and specific features of the electrical system, summarizing the electrical load of the building, the size and capacity of the LV panel, SDB, MDB used for load management.
Types of systems
Single bus bar system is easy and cheap. The scheme uses generator and transformer sources which are further connected to air circuit breakers. The electrical interlocking of air circuit breaker ACBs or MCCBs is done through the same Bus bar and the power to the load is supplied.
Electrical Interlocking
Electrical interlocking between two MCCBs/ACBs is provided at the same time to prevent the MCCB/ACB from shutting down. If one (ON) is then the other will be (OFF).
ACB1/MCCB1 = Closed / ON then (ACB2/MCCB2 = Open / Off)
ACB2/MCCB2=Closed/ON then (ACB1/MCCB1=Open/Off)
Building voltage usage
The building is powered by Three Phase 440V and Single Phase 220V with frequency 50 Hz.
Transformer configuration
The capacity of the transformer varies in KVA (i.e. 1000, 1250, or 2500 kva) which ensures the supply of 220 / 440V to the industry.
Low Tension (LT) Panel
Electrical energy is received from the source and distributed to the load side through LT panel. LT consists of breakers, bus bars, parameters measuring equipment, indications, control and safety equipment.
Normal lighting system
LED tube lights 18W and 36/40 W, LED search lights 50W 100W, and emergency search lights 10W are majorly used for lighting in the building.
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
It is impossible to have control and supervision over all industrial activities every time. This requires some automated tools that can control, monitor, collect data, analyze data, and generate reports. To meet this demand, a unique solution has been introduced which is the SCADA system. SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. It is an industrial control system where a computer system monitors and controls a process.
